From the late sisxties I was a fan of "underground cartoons". I collected ZAP Comics and other compilations. In 1972 I was living on Kauai andbought an issue of Surfer magazine (volume 12 number 6) and was delighted to find a comic insert titled "Tales of the Tube" that featured some of the best cartoonists of the day. They included Rick Griffin, Robert Crumb, Robert Williams, S. Clay Wilson, and others.
The color cover was done by the late, great Rick Griffin. I will bublish his contribution here in four large jpeg files (about 4 megs each. They are suitable for printing at full size.
Hope you enjoy. If it's is well received I'll publish some more of "Tales of the Tube" in the future.
