Love Tribe: Playing for Peace:
at Birkam Yoga, 7:00 to 9:00, Sat, Jan 27th

As part of the Effort for Peace, Kauai's own Women's Drumming Group, Love Tribe, will offer a Concert (donations accepted).

For the Moving Rally:

Bring your children with you – to teach them about real democracy in action! If you can, bring blue balloons as the symbol of peace.

Make signs saying, “No more wars!” or “America wants peace!” or “Enough of the lies!” or anything that you deem appropriate for this occasion.

Make signs depicting the yellow magnet ribbon: “We support our troops, we don’t support this war!

You can support peace even if you cannot join us! These are some things others are doing. Choose one, or start something new, if you want a free and ethical America again!

Paint “No war!” on a fence, sidewalk, road or lawn.

Fly a blue balloon – the symbol of peace.

Wave, cheer or honk to the rally participants when you see them.

Make a bright sign “No war!” and place it in your window or in the rear window of your car!

If you have a magnetic yellow ribbon, modify it to say, “I support no wars!”

Let our voices be heard from the Pacific Ocean to the White House in Washington, D.C.

And if you do support the war, you are invited to display a sign “ I support the war!”. Let’s see who is in majority.

Let’s restore democracy in America!!!

Act Now to End the War!

The occupation of Iraq is going badly. Bush must now expand the war to keep it going.

by Linda Pascatore 16 January 2007

There will be a traveling rally to Stop the War and Bring the Troops Home Now, on Saturday, January 27th. We will gather along the highway as follows:

8:30am in Waimea at the Cook Statue
9:30am at Hanapepe Library
10:30am at Tree Tunnel Intersection (turnoff to Poipu)
11:30am at KCC in Puhi
12:30pm at Airport Intersection in Lihue
1:30pm at Wailua River (Smith’s side)
2:30pm at Kapaa Library
3:30pm at Kilauea Menehune Mini Mart

Bring signs. A letter writing workshop will be available at Hanapepe and Kapaa Library locations, with materials, info and sample letters so that you can write to your representatives to let them know how you feel about this important issue.

The event is in conjunction with the national march on Washington sponsored by United for Peace and Justice. On election day, the voters delivered a dramatic, unmistakable mandate for peace. Now it’s time for action. On Jan 27, help send a strong, clear message to Congress and the Bush administration. Bring the troops home now!
